Cable is more prone to congestion in your local neighborhood. So that early
adopters might see good service, but once everyone in the neighborhood has
it, things may not be so nice. DSL bandwidth is aggregated in a place where
it is more economical to expand the bandwith available to a neighborhood.

My experience has been that there are more choices for providers over DSL
than cable. Cable is pretty much going to be broadband for sheep unless you
pat for business class service. Alternate DSL providers exist that will
provide you with real internet access for a cost between BBfS and BBfB.
