Hi

Define "community interest"

I'd start with making a new user's first time experience as
painless as possible.
What can be done to improve that. Can you provide a specific list. You might want to discuss these in fedora-devel of file bug reports and RFE's to bugzilla if its specific enough.

Would you also count the work going on with Kadischi as being an RHEL
inspired subproject?

I wouldn't.

It looks like a badly-need catch up to all the other popular
distributions to me.
Maybe. Maybe they will explore other new options. Kadischi does generate live cd's from a collection of packages which is quite useful. Others doing such things doesnt negate the usefulness of it for the Fedora Project and its pretty good example of some projects done actively from community with help from Red Hat.
