The lack of details. At least the program's release version and the error message(s) would have been relevant. Further, you jumped to blaming FC6 as the being the culprit.
But it's odd you need to re-write code to get it to run on FC6.
Tell Adobe. They make insufficient/poor assumptions in their shell script.
