Probably the one thing that sways my opinion about a client is how good or bad it quotes. The top things that spring to mind being: I like being able to highlight something, and reply to that message, and only what was highlighted gets quoted. I like clients that quote verbatim, until I re-arrange paragraphs. I like clients that neatly stack the >>> quote indicators, not leaving a higgedly piggedly mess of > > >> and > >>> all over the place. I like editors that work like word processors. They wrap as I type, in the manner that the post will be sent, and they don't need line ends manually fixing up if I edit in the middle of a paragraph. It goes without saying that it should do proper threading and have sensible keyboard navigation. -- (This box runs FC6, my others run FC4 & FC5, in case that's important to the thread.) Don't send private replies to my address, the mailbox is ignored. I read messages from the public lists.
