Nope.  You could find someting other than YUM running on Linux to stress
your system to its limits, just as much.  The software makes use of
what's there.  If what's there has its own deficiencies (inadequate
heatsink, dusty heatsink, heatsink fan running too slow, etc.), that's
where the problem lay.
