Nobody has suggested that the survey should be compulsory.
How could a voluntary survey possibly be regarded as invasive?

In my view, Fedora developers generally are out of touch
with Fedora users.
The developers - I would single out Anaconda in this regard -
do not seem to have any idea what problems users encounter,
or what proportion of users run into difficulties.

For example, does 0.1% or 1% or 10% have problems reading the CDs?
Who knows?
All one can say is that lots of people seem to write to the mailing list
complaining about this.
