By "sharing that printer in no > time", I meant, "you'll be using that shared printer in no time". Well, when you say "JetDirect should be the way to go" I don't know if you mean the old cheesy non-protocol used by old jetDirect cards (sometimes referred to as "JetDirect protocol"), or if you mean generic hp jetdirect card support. Modern JetDirects provide LPD emulation, which can easily be accessed from a linux print spooler by choosing "unix" as the print/spool type, entring the printer's IP address in the "printer name" field, entering "raw" in the queue name field, choosing the printer and driver. As an aside, I ran into one today, while remotely logged into a customer site, where their HP LJ5P did not have LPD printing enabled. I had to telnet to the printer and enable LPD printing before the above stated config would work. -- ---- Fred Smith -- fredex@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ------------------------------ Philippians 4:13 -------------------------------
