On most servers, you don't need (and you don't want) anything like that.
In such cases, everything should be kept simple.
Linux isn't all about servers - but still, a framebuffer is not
"complicated" compared to vga textmode.  It uses more
memory, but that is graphichs memory the server can't
put to better use anyway.
