Later on, they want to install vlc and just do yum > install vlc, and all hell breaks loose. perhaps, but that would violate the fundamental rule that's already been mentioned a number of times here -- don't mix non-fedora repos. quite simply, the minute someone decides to pull in another repository (be it livna, freshrpms, whatever), then it's *their* *responsibility* to remember that and act accordingly in the future. if they forget, and cavalierly start dragging packages out of other repositories sometime down the road, they have no one but themselves to blame. if you find that you need more than one non-fedora repository to install a package, that should set off some warning bells. rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P.
