Hi, Tim,
	Check your local amateur radio shop.  They should have a lightening
arrester for the coax.  It looks like a small barrel with a screw on the
side for a ground connection.  It will give the arcs someplace to bleed
off, and should help your issues with the router.  Otherwise see if you
can get one of the outlet strips with the video jack arrester and run
the coax to it.  Either should help considerably.
