Since with Fedora 7 onwards, we are requesting users to install smolt and send system profiles, I think it would be easier to get a compilation of hardware devices that work OOTB! If a particular hardware device is supported, we could provide context-specific help documentation in the various system-config-* applications, and if documentation is ambiguous, we could always redirect the user to come to our wiki, which could potentially have user experience compilations. Karl, Thank you for writing an article that puts forward an approach on the basic steps for getting WI-FI working on a laptop, but with all due respect, I would not recommend hosting this document right away. I personally feel that the flow of language is not smooth. A little bit of editing could make your efforts a valuable contribution.
