The "missing titlebar" issue happens when compiz loads but
gnome-window-decorator doesn't. Try running (from a terminal) compiz
--replace and seeing what happens.

The title bars disappear. No text.

Try running gnome-window-decorator from
a terminal too - either and/or both should spit out text if they don't
work right...

# gnome-window-decorator
-bash: gnome-window-decorator: command not found

I also think that this is a bug, and it was seen in FC6.

There is a work around (at least for me).

By adding beryl-manager and beryl to my personal startup, the window manager would load correctly when I logged in.

System/Preferences/More Preferences/Sessions and Startup Programs tab.

The window manager can also be started manually from the beryl-manager (red diamond) in the task bar.

Good Luck!
