Here's a write up using FC-6 is still applies to F7: > > http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_books/installation_guides/redhat_fedora_core_6_installation_guide/sn-install-tcpip-config.html Thanks, Kam, but when I try to run the rescue mode from the F7 installation dvd, I get again the same deadlock problem: "Loading pata_it821x driver". Thus, a network install seems not possible here. Paul
Did a little google search. These links may help you with your driver problem: http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Kernel/2007-05/msg06964.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-bugs/2007-04/msg00978.html The SUSE folks seem to think passing 'brokenmodules=it821x' or 'brokenmodules=it821x, pata_it821x' might work with the DVD install.
