Thanks, Kam, but when I try to run the rescue mode from the F7
installation dvd, I get again the same deadlock problem:

"Loading pata_it821x driver".

Thus, a network install seems not possible here.

Did a little google search. These links may help you with your driver problem:

The SUSE folks seem to think passing 'brokenmodules=it821x'  or
'brokenmodules=it821x, pata_it821x'  might work with the DVD install.
