Ric No Ric After *very* many hours of trying, I have come to a complete halt in trying to get it working. I have looked at the mailing lists and forums of other distros, and they all appear to be having a lot of problems getting webcams to work. So it isn't just a Fedora problem. My webcam wants to use /dev/video, but there isn't one! I have no idea how to create one. In fact, I have tried several other distros on my "experimenting" hard drive, and none of the create a /dev/video folder. I am coming to the conclusion that, until I can get a /dev/video folder and file, there is no chance of my camera working. What's very frustrating is that, when I bought the camera, I read on other lists, that it worked "out of the box" in Linux. I ran installation CD with XP, and five minutes later, the camera was working and properly set up. GRRRRR! Unless someone can offer me any other advice, I am afraid it's back to XP whenever I want to use the webcam. Sorry I couldn't be more positive. Cheers Keith
