It did! It looks as though my Linux machine didn't correctly write the DVD, although it did pass the installation test. I wrote a DVD using the same image using Nero on a Windows machine, and all was well.
Maybe the Linux box's DVD drive is allergic to the brand of DVD I used (Phillips).
