Uhh... yeah, that's what Gaim does too... Thanks for the tip, Ric, but I'm afraid that is in no way related to my question at hand. Gaim works fine, the issue is with a particular plugin, Guifications, that shows status changes in little windows that pop up in the corner of the screen (I believe "toaster plugin" is the technical term). It seems something is wrong in the FC6 package for Guifications and it doesn't want to play with Gaim like it should. Does no one else use Guifications? Hmm, maybe I'll just file a bug report...
