There is an extension for firefox that does something similar, I forgot the name. It saves all of your bookmarks and it wouldn't take much, for someone who advanced past line numbers (unlike me), to include other settings. The only problem is the delay in cranking up firefox due to the initial syncing of the file to the email server each time, where the backup file is stored. Plus, all of your settings are someplace maybe not so secure? >
