I bit the bullet and did all the updates, today, applicable to my box, including: The kernel, module-init-tools, alsa (the ones that I can remember; for some reason the yum.log file hasn't been updated, so I can't check). And all went well, despite suffering a power outage during the download. I let the install do it's business, rebooted with the new kernel, and didn't have to do anything else. This is on an old Gigabyte 6WMMC7 motherboard with on-board i810 video and on-board sound. -- Don't send private replies to my address, the mailbox is ignored. I read messages from the public lists.
