this is a 1 user solution

an all user solution (using your versioning)...

ln -s /opt/jre1.5.0_06/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin.oji.so \
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

but on my setup, this worked...
ln -s /usr/java/jre1.5.0_06/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so \
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

YMMV - especially depending upon which java you install.
