Well, the first says explicitly "not supported" (with a lot of detail that's way over my head); the second has no entry -- and my post to the lexmark general forum had had no answer.
Any other hope??

I got rid of my "New" Linux supported printer after a few months of headaches and in-ability to print. Replaced it with an Epson.
I purchased the Lexmark after learning that they had a Linux driver on their site. I gave the printer away.
If your printer is new enough and the store has a decent return policy, run, don't walk to return it.
