Sorry, have to correct myself. You are using a GUI FTP client which
allows you to set the mode in it's options? The server seems to suggest
to better switch over to passive mode.

I tested here with command line ftp and the command is "passive" which
switches the state:

ftp> passive
Passive mode off.
ftp> passive
Passive mode on.

So I would say either using ip_conntrack_ftp helps or the D-Link router
prevents you from using the FTP server behind it (maybe a look at the
router manual can give you a hint).
