Does anyone here who follows the release > process care to comment? My take on how to deal with fedora releases 1) this might not really be a show stopper bug if its a relatively rare case. I know this would be annoying neverthless but it would pass the release criteria. 2) being a time based distro fedora is likely to have more problems than say debian stable.. since gnome and openbsd and even RHEL seems to be doing a good stable time based release I believe the bugs that you see are the result of the sticking with upstream most of the time and moving really fast. If you dont like this you have a few choices * stick with an older version and choose whether you want to upgrade *after* a delay of say two to three weeks when most of the major issues would be revealed and you can be comfortable knowing what to expect * move to rhel/clones which wouldnt give you the latest of greatest but is likely to be more stable * move to another distro like Ubuntu which has a time based release but only does security/bug fixes till the next release instead regards Rahul Sundaram
