In that case, I'd suggest downloading the RHEL source RPM and building and installing that. That's as close as you'll get to the "real thing": http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/3/en/os/i386/SRPMS/imap-2002d-2.src.rpm rpmbuild --rebuild imap-2002d-2.src.rpm (you'll need krb5-devel, openssl-devel and pam-devel) That'll get you a RHEL3-compatible imap package built for your system.
