One of the reasons why Latin has such a clearly defined grammar is because it's not getting forced to do new things in daily conversation. My history of language is fairly hazy here but I think the main reason we have any grammar rules for English at all is because scholars were used to Latin having clearly defined grammar and decided it would be a good idea for English too. > Possibly the smartest off topic sentence seen here today! > :) Rob
