I wonder about which distribution you are speaking. Reading the announce
list

http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-announce-list

you will quickly find that kernel updates are far more seldom than you
claim/blame to be.

Can it be that you configured your yum to use updates-testing or even
development? Then please touch your own nose.
