Covering two replies in one here....
This is the first time I have ever done an upgrade and so far it seems
fairly solid, but I've seen image files within my local data that show
what some of the new programs WOULD look like and they are very
different in a number of cases. It really seems there is a lot that is
not upgraded in the normal update process.

Good point!

Hmmm.... my experience with this upgrade differs from your past
experience. Upon completion of the upgrade, BOTH old RHL9 kernels no
longer showed up in GRUB. IT showed only the existing Windows and the
new Fedora Core.

I'm using the dual boot setup purely as a learning tool, but I sure
hate to have to end up learning so much the VERY hard way. I will say
that I am leaning toward doing a new install of Fedora, just to
actually SEE how much different it ends up being from the upgrade.

Thanks very much to all who has tolerated my frustrations and
ignorance. :)
