Well.. it's the Fedora user list.. But.. Here's an example. I love the Slackware distro and I had it installed until I decided to give Fedora a try on my home computer.. And this is an old computer .. with a 14'' display. So, I downloaded Fedora ISOs, I removed Slack.. and installed Fedora.. But, hey.. no X configuration at the instalation process. The display was OK at the installation point. And at the first boot.. surprise.. My screen went to stand-by because an unsupported resolution/refresh config.. So.. no firstboot.. no nothing.. until I starded the system in interactive mode without rhgb and I bypassed firstboot service.. Then I edited XF86config manually to set a correct VertRefresh. And all that because Fedora discovered my monitor being an AOC 5Vlr, wehn, in fact, it a 4Vlr.. I was firstly urged to roll back to Slack and toss Fedora CDs to the trash bin. But I just wanted to see how it looks like. And I liked it.. after this nightmare, I really liked it. What if I was a regular user? And only had one monitor for installation? I'd be running another distro that correctly makes my display work.. or ASKS me what monitor type I have or if the detected one is good or not.. That does not happen with Fedora unfortunately.. Don't lose users by being inconsiderate..
