It is running Windows NT. I am starting fresh.

no floppy boot for FC3, what os is on the laptop now?
Past posts have outlined a procedure for upgrading a maching allready
running 
either RHL or FC check the archives for specifics.  Basically you load
the 
boot stuff in to your /boot partition and point your existing grub.conf
at 
it.
