I have a Lenovo X61s with F12, kernel 2.6.32.11-99.fc12.i686.PAE I normally use Network Manager to manage the wireless, however, recently my events/0 process is using 50% CPU time (measured with top -d 60). The load stays high even if I disable the wireless and remove the iwlagn module. The machine doesn't have a wired connection. "/etc/init.d/NetworkManager stop" cures the problem and brings the load down. When NetworkManager is running, but with disabled wireless, I don't see anything special in /proc/interrupts, except for the timers. Why is Network Manager generating all these events? How do I stop it from doing this - keeping Network Manager running?
