Don't know about that level of editing, but if you just want
to watch a DVD without having to put it in the player
before dinner so that by after dinner all the promos
and ads will have made it past, then mplayer from
rpmfusion plus libdvdcss from livna is what you need.

Mplayer can be instructed to utterly ignore the bilge
and go directly to playing the actual movie :-).
