Hi,
I'm trying to debug suspend resume on my acer 4530 laptop. This is F11
x86_64.
I have the proprietary nvidia driver driver version 185.18.14
By googling, I found claims that the nvidia kmod handles most of suspend
resume just fine so a script 99-non-free-nvidia is in /etc/pm/config.d ;
see :
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-kernel-common/+bug/180378
...adding the above script seems to improve things.
I also tried some debugging ala :
http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/quirk/quirk-suspend-advanced.html
The resulting grep of dmesg.txt yields :
" hash matches drivers/base/power/main.c:387"
This is a fairly up-to-date system :
# uname -r
2.6.29.5-191.fc11.x86_64
Suspend is quick - 4/5- seconds. Resume is about 1 minute most of which
is black with a flashing cursor. I get complaints often like "R/O File
System" or "Input/Output error" if I try to run commands after a resume.
Any ideas of what to do next?
The smolt for this machine is at :
http://www.smolts.org/client/show/pub_34f97347-fa10-40ed-ba1a-35d6c4b8d5ff
Most everything works--the Atheros chip is working fine and although the
Cheese Webcam video is choppy it is getting there.
Thanks,
SW
