It's an alternative to VirtualBox which is supported by the upstream kernel without third-party modules and which just works in Fedora without installing any third-party stuff. And it's completely Free Software, whereas VirtualBox has 2 editions, one which is Free Software (the Open Source Edition (OSE)) and another one which isn't.
