I've tried, unsucessfully, to install Sun Virtual Box on my FC10. It's a bit of a funny install where you have to install the package and then compile it for your system... Very well, I'm not a Linux expert so I suspect it has to do with virtualization in the kernel.
This was the link I found
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=205070
I did all until number 3 (included) which is vboxdrv setup.
[root@desktop Download]# /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
Stopping VirtualBox kernel module [ OK ]
Removing old VirtualBox netflt kernel module [ OK ]
Removing old VirtualBox kernel module [ OK ]
Recompiling VirtualBox kernel module [ OK ]
Starting VirtualBox kernel module [FAILED]
(modprobe vboxdrv failed. Please use 'dmesg' to find out why)
running dmesg gives me the following
vboxdrv: version magic '2.6.27.24-170.2.68.fc10.i686 SMP mod_unload 686 4KSTACKS ' should be '2.6.27.24-170.2.68.fc10.i686.PAE SMP mod_unload 686 4KSTACKS '
I guess it has something to do with PAE. Somehting I've noticed is that the src downloaded from yum is in folder /urs/src/kernels/2.6.27.24-170.2.68.fc10.i686 (notice that there is no PAE at the end).
uname -a givesd this:
Linux desktop.lan 2.6.27.24-170.2.68.fc10.i686.PAE #1 SMP Wed May 20 22:58:30 EDT 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Help....!....!...!
Cheers
Yoram
