Any thoughts? ---- try 'unmounting' the directory (probably /media/NAME_OF_IPOD) and then disconnecting it. Then when you connect it again, it will probably automatically mount again. I found that several versions of Fedora ago (perhaps F7, perhaps earlier), I ended up adding myself to /etc/sudoers and telling gtkpod to unmount the device when quitting.
