howto revert kernel/nvidia/x11

Now that the latest kernel update (2.6.24.3-12) has broken most things 
vmware wise(vmplayer in my case) what is the proper way to revert back to

kernel 2.6.23.15-137.fc8 and the following that go with it

kmod-nvidia
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia
