I've used lftp to transfer a few things to my comcast account. I recall sometime way back when I had trouble deleting files, but it either resolved itself or I managed to do something with their online tools to fix it. Either way though, this was a long time ago and it's quite possible they've rewritten their online tools in such a way that they are broken worse then they were in the past. I uploaded some files via ftp within the last few weeks though. Their website creation tools just suck. And if they admit that they don't support Firefox or Linux, I'd simply move on and look for a better hosting provider like Mikkel recommended.
