Tried the KDE CD last night, which convinced me the problem has to be
Anaconda, which helped me to figure out something else to try - skipping
Anaconda. I cloned the F7 partition to the F8 target. After first trying
'apt-get dist-upgrade' and getting hoards of rpmdb errors, some yum induced
rpmdb bumps, 2-3 'rpm --rebuilddb', and yum restarts, 'yum ugrade' finally
worked. Now Werewolf 2.6.23.8-63.fc8 is running on /dev/hdc11 aka /dev/sdc11.
