Combined with PEERDNS=no for the interface, you will always end up with the settings for the selected profile. I believe you can also include other files in your profile besides the ones included by default. (/etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/<profile name>) So if you have a caching name server, you could probably change its config file depending on the profile you are using. You may have to restart it after the change as well. I do not know if NetworkManager supports this.
