One place where chainloading is nice is where you have a second
install on a USB drive. You can chainload to the USB drive, after
using the map command to change the BIOS mapping of the USB drive to
drive 80 (hd0). That way, you can boot to the USB drive from the
Grub menu. It works well when you have the boot order locked down on
the machine and have a password on the USB boot menu entry.
