No binary there, like codec-cfg in the compile directory can be run, with 'Permission denied'. If someone suspects: no, selinux is off. And it is root. What is the meaning of this? Has my system got corrupt? I tried older versions of lame, mplayer, and essential codecs package. It does not compile. What is the problem? Or, am I being extremely dumb and doing some very silly mistake somewhere? -- das
