I have...  Custom lets you choose how it's used.

In my case, using a pre-partitioned drive with pre-formatted partitions.
The Anaconda installer doesn't give you an option to check for bad
blocks, nor lets you write what you want used as drive labels, so I did
that before installing, and just used the custom disc layout to choose
the partitions to install to, but not change anything.  It worked a
treat.

Using FC 4, 5, 6 & 7, plus CentOS 5.  Today, it's FC7.
