I can confirm that the latest update has fixed things for me.

[tim@bigblack ~]$ cd /var/cache/yum/updates/packages/
[tim@bigblack packages]$ ll udev-1*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 308561 2007-07-05 14:24 udev-106-4.1.fc7.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 323693 2007-08-08 00:15 udev-113-8.fc7.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 323454 2007-08-08 22:45 udev-113-9.fc7.i386.rpm

The middle one was the dodgy one.  Oddly enough, with all the reverting
and re-installing, rhgb has started working again for me, though I don't
know if that's just co-incidental.  (That change happened while messing
with the udev packages, only, no other updates at the same time.)

Using FC 4, 5, 6 & 7, plus CentOS 5.  Today, it's FC7.
