Then there is nothing measure against...so everything is irrelevant.

The fact that there aren't anywhere the same number of complaints,

Yes. Especially when you consider the vast differences in
functionality.
It becomes an apple to oranges comparison.

The fact that there aren't any complaints does not mean that nobody's
using them. That's absurd.

Did I say that? I think not. Kindly don't put words in my mouth. Only my
wife is allowed to do that.

You can certainly said that, with your apples/oranges comparisons, which
implied that nobody's using "nv" due to its supposedly limited
functionality. That's wrong.

I said you can't compare 2 drivers whose functionally is different. My 27

Really? One's a video driver, and the other one isn't?

You're making no sense.

gear mountain bike has more points of failure than my wife's single speed
bicycle. Even though they are both bicycles it is folly to compare them.

No, it's not. Both of them are bicycles. It is perfectly reasonably to compare their track record of reliability and performance. If the multigear bike keeps breaking down, it doesn't get a free pass just because it's got more bells and whistles on it.

Furthermore, if you think that every Linux
user requires 1,000 FPS in Quake, and thus cannot function without
Nvidia's blob, is, I think, is rather an extreme belief. I somehow
manage to do it. I'm sure many others can too.

What is Quake? Around here in Taiwan it is when the earth moves and
buildings shake.

You know very well what Quake is, and what is meant by that. You're just
putting on a show.

Maybe you should use your own ability to divine what is being implied? Of
course I know what "Quake" is...

Then stop posturing.

I'm implying that I don't play games. And
you seem to be implying that I have an opinion on what folks think they need
to run Quake.

No, you have an opinion as to what proportion of "folks" require and actually need 3D accel. And the proportion is a small minority. Most Linux users do not, and have no need for 3D acceleration. If someone wants 1,000 FPS to play shoot-em-ups, they'll be running Windows, for which a much larger game selection is available. Only a small minority are grappling with 3D video on Linux, and those are the ones who keep complaining about the binary blobs they're suffering with. The majority, who use free drivers, you rarely hear from them, because for them, everything Just Works™.

You are still putting words in my mouth and I asked you not to do that. So,
please stop.

I'm not putting them. I'm pulling them out and exposing them as totally absurd.
