Ahhh?!?!

sdaX are SCSI or SATA disks. IDE disks should still be hdaX. What do you
have in hda5? See /etc/fstab.

Hmm... when I boot into runlevel 3, all of the disks (and they're all
IDE disks) are listed as /dev/sdaX. I'm pretty sure that's a major
change I've read about the F7 kernel.

Maybe the problem is related to the partition that is giving you
problems. Else, I would try with the vesa driver (crappy, but it almost
always works).

Ok. How would I try that?
