That's a purely personal statement. I don't have a problem with
it, since I'm not ever going to install FC7 on any of my machines.

It is your loss. The laptop which previously running XP and is again running Fedora is a pretty impressive OS with version 7 installed vs. XP or previous versions of Fedora. Everything still works ad the programs, OS look and applets are a lot more functional, flawless in my wn personal statement. HP Pavilion ZE4300 series.
