sorry. I meant 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6.
I got that from a "theorically" official DVD that I got from a local book store.

Did you do a "yum update"? Do you have the update repository enabled?

Yes. But no update available. My module-init-tools version is 3.3-0.pre1.4.17
If you need, I can send a strace of modprobe sending "modules.dep" to
the hell...

Any thoughts?
