Best (cheap) Sound Card with Digital Output?

Can someone please recommend the best cheap soundcard with SPDIF or IEC958 
output?  I have a pair of Boston Acoustic BA735 speakers I'd like to use with 
FC6.  They're digital *only*.

I have a MSI KT4V (MS-6712) motherboard with integrated RealTek ALC655 sound 
(not digital).  I also have a (cheap) ESS Allegro PCI card installed and 
working.  It has a SPDIF connector on the back, but it doesn't seem to work 
with alsa.

Any informative links would be greatly appreciated.
