Darren,

To be honest, I can't get the Livna version of mplayer to work for me at all (mplayer and therefor not the plugin either). I use the dries repo's version instead and it works fore me. If you google dries I'm sure you can fid instructions for setting up the repo. There are some complications using third party repos. These are described in the Yum documentation.

Just tried that to no avail.

Version of Mplayerplug-in is mplayerplug-in.i386 0:3.40-1.lvn6 is that
helps..

Also forgive me I'm still learning fedora core. I've tried all of the
other google searches and the likes but cant solve this one myself.

Which mplayer plug-in do you have? Do you have the one from a third party repo? Have you done an yum remove... yum install of it to check?

the mplayer plugin and codecs to work?

Anyone got any pointers.

All i ever get is a message saying that the plugin needs to be
downloaded. It is downloaded and in the appropriate folder.

But still not working.
