0.8.x and 0.7.x are very different, for example wrt to ivtvctl options:

        - Added utils/v4l2-ctl. Much of what was in ivtvctl is now in this
          application (copied from v4l-dvb, www.linuxtv.org). Eventually ivtvctl
          will disappear and all control will be done through v4l2-ctl.

	 In the newer releases of ivtv (>=ivtv-0.8) most these options
	 have been moved to v4l2-ctl. The syntax should be almost the same
