Hi, John.  Flame?  <grin> There are a lot of us ex-MDVers here.  You'll soon 
find your feet.  The differences are off-putting at first, but superficial.

You may need to install a couple of extra packages.  lshw and dmidecode will 
give you huge amounts of info about your system.  HTH
